My sweet little nephew just turned three. How did that happen??? We moved here to Illinois less than two weeks before the little guy was born, and it just doesn’t seem like that much time could possibly have passed already. Then again, we have an almost two year who was born a year and a month after he was, and he’s got a baby sister, and another sibling on the way! So…wow.
Anyway, here’s to the sweetest, most mischievous little boy I know…
Happy 3rd Birthday, Nico!! ?
Nico’s mom and dad made his day, with a Smash Brothers themed birthday party! Serenity dressed up like Ness (from the game – little boy in jean shorts, striped tank, with a baseball cap and bat), and their Papa Brett made several Nintendo characters out of balloons, but of course I totally spaced taking pictures of any of that. #sigh
Thankfully, I got lots of fun pictures of everything else!
We had mini cupcakes and lemonade…
Then Nico opened his presents…
With things as tight as they’ve been, Nick and I were super happy that my work as a review blogger allowed us to give Nico something nice for his birthday. I told you about Dooodolls yesterday – Serenity gave Nico the Ninja, and he loved it!! I do believe there was little boy squealing. ? And thanks to Zonderkidz, Nick and I gave Nico two new VeggieTales “I Can Read” books – All Is Fair When We Share and Larry Makes A Choice. He’s a little young at only three to read these on his own, but he loved looking at the pictures, and his parents are really good about reading with their kids. It’s nice that these books will last him a long time!
After presents, Nico’s daddy helped him put together a few of his new toys, and the kids ran around and played for a while…
The party wrapped up with the highlight of the party – the kids got to play a couple of Super Smash Brothers tournaments! If you’ve never seen very small children try to master hand-eye coordination, and smash each other’s characters into oblivion at the same time, you’re missing out. #lol
The best part was that the youngest child to play (only two years old, barely four months older than Serenity) won her tournament with the biggest, baddest character in the game, Bowser!!
I’m so glad my little nephew had a great birthday party, and that we’ve been so blessed to watch him grow these past three years since his birth. My pray for this little man is many more years to come, and lots of Super Smash Brothers victories under his little belt! #wink
We love you, little man. ?
