In The Beginning, There Were Minions… #Giveaway

*This is a sponsored post; all opinions are my own.*

“The Minions are coming, the Minions are coming!!” Serenity screams, running through the house, her little arms waving wildly in the air, curly red hair reminding me forcibly of the crazy purple Minions from Despicable Me 2 (and she’s only slightly less likely to eat you, some days). It’s early June, and we’re about to walk out the door for our first family date since last fall. Thanks to General Mills, we’re being treated to free movie passes to see the new Minions movie in theaters.

In The Beginning, There Were Minions... | The Homemade Creative

The highly-anticipated Minions movie from Universal Studios hit theaters on July 10th, and we were thrilled to see it two weeks later, when Nick came home from camp (stay tuned). We love both Despicable Me movies, and Serenity gave me a run for my money, watching them over and over again for two weeks, in anticipation. We weren’t disappointed! Be sure to check out my review on Monday.

To help build excitement for the Minions movie, General Mills brought these hilarious characters to our table with specially marked boxes of Golden Grahams breakfast cereal and Fruit by the Foot snacks. Serenity was thrilled to discover a Minion key chain buddy in her cereal! There are six different kinds of breakfast cereal in the Minions lineup – Banana Nut Cheerios, Golden Grahams, Honey Nut Cheerios, Mini Trix, Reese’s Puffs, and Cinnamon Toast Crunch – and six different Minion buddies, that link together by the arms to form a Minion-tastic chain of hilarity. You can also find the Minions on specially marked boxes of Gushers and Fruit Roll’Ups from the Betty Crocker brand.

Serenity is gaga for breakfast cereal, and had a blast eating her Golden Grahams every morning, and she loved the Fruit by the Foot a little too much, becoming inconsolable when they ran out. Oops! By far, though, she loved the movie best, and we’re definitely going to have to buy it when it releases.

I’ve seen the movie and I really enjoyed it. I think it had great heart. I loved giant Kevin. 😀 I loved him as much as the giant Animal from one of the early Muppet movies.
